Highlights from the IOI Annual AMR Conference 2025

The Ineos Oxford Institute recently hosted its Annual AMR Conference on November 12–14, 2025, at the University of Oxford. The three-day event brought together world-leading scientists, clinicians, and policymakers to share progress in the global fight against antimicrobial resistance.

Keynote sessions covered exciting new developments in antibiotic discovery, rapid diagnostics, and infection control strategies. Among the highlights was a presentation on how artificial intelligence is being used to speed up the identification of novel compounds with antibiotic potential.

Panel discussions emphasized the importance of international collaboration and the need for stronger public awareness campaigns about responsible antibiotic use. Early career researchers also had the chance to showcase their work in poster sessions, sparking valuable dialogue and networking opportunities.

The conference concluded with a call to action: for governments, industries, and academia to work together in driving innovation and safeguarding the future of modern medicine.
